We had our first death today of a Wanderer, someone who came through the Rift.

It was Calisto, who murdered him.

I wish I could give you all some kind of comfort or reassurance. I wish I could protect you all from all of the dangers in this world, but I cannot. Unfortunately, being a First does not really have all of that meaning, no incredibly special powers to prevent the worst from happening. I cannot stop what's to come.

And I cannot send you back to your own worlds, either. I am deeply sorry that you have all been taken here against your will, that your lives have become about living in an entirely different universe with strangers, living in constant danger and hiding as much as you can from the light of day, because that is where the demons of this world lurk. In the light and the dark.

If you need anything, even if it's just to talk to someone, remember my phone is always on.

I am glad to hear you all made it through the earthquake relatively unscathed.

The cause of the earthquake was another section of the Rift opening up further, most likely bigger than the one under the Conrad, but somewhere else in the city and that is what I have been away trying to find out.

I'm afraid Calisto may have found it already.

There are now only 9 First Angels left on the planet.

Luke, it's become clear more quickly than I would have liked, just what made those demons so anxious and tense.

Calisto, one of 20 Neqa'el demons on the planet, is back in Chicago. I cannot begin to outline how dangerous she is and what this means for the demons here. They were disorganized before, much less of a threat. She will come and bring organization and with it, a frightening precision in everything that the demons decide they should do. If she comments on an entry of yours, do not respond. Do not comment on her entries. If you look in your journal, the first name of the person who wrote the entry will always appear just above the entry, itself. If you see her name, avoid it.

Do not go out by yourself. I'd prefer it if you don't go out at all, but I know you're not likely to listen to me on that. I can't blame you. I don't want you to feel imprisoned. Take a phone and your journal with you everywhere you go, that isn't within the basement. Do not leave it in your room.

Be careful and if anything suspicious happens, if you ever feel threatened.

Call me, immediately.

Don't let her scare you too much. She is dangerous, but she's not likely to kill you. It's not her style as long as you can get out, you'll be okay. And if you follow my instructions then in the case that you can't get out... you'll be all right.
